Time to Breathe

America is in a deep state of fatigue. And some people are impacted more by fatigue than others. Black & Brown people experience disproportionate sleep loss and fatigue, especially during the pandemic. We’re going to explore these disparities and discuss rest as a revolutionary form of self-care and resistance. Donte to attend HERE 🎫

The Wellness - Dr. Deborah Norris of The Mindfulness Center will lead us through a 20 minute Mindfulness Meditation.

The Content - The New York Times article, Rest as Reparations, that delves into healing generational racial trauma through mindfulness, rest, and stress reduction. This discussion will be lead by meditation facilitator and indoor cycling instructor (& overall badass), Sasha Whitney.

The Context - Read more about the NCBI’s 2015 study on Racial/Ethnic Differences in Sleep Disturbances here.

The best part? All tickets and donations go to The Mindfulness Center's Diversity Scholarship Fund to support Black & Brown meditation leaders with financial aid towards their Meditation Teacher Training Certification. The suggested donation amount is $10, but if you’re able to support more, we’d greatly appreciate it 🙏
